Self Massage
To relax the neck muscles, yon can use some simple self-massage. Hold your hand over the back of your neck, arching in the middle to avoid the spine, with the heel of your hand on one side and your fingertipsaand heel towards each other. Now by raising the arch of your hand, bring your fingertips and heel toward each other, gently working and squeezing the muscles on either side of your spine. With a rhythmic motion, work up your neck muscles to the base of your skull, where a lot of tension collects. Spend some time here and then work back down again. Use a pressure that feels comfortable. Drop your head slightly to open your neck muscles, slowly straightening as you reach the base of your skull.
